Grab the source and compile it yourself. The .diff is in 2 parts, apply them one after another and all should be fine.

Another source update this time, so soon after New Year, go grab it now. If you can't compile to save your life go over the Build Your Own Arcade Controls forum and to this post by Headkaze and grab MAME Compiler V0.5, makes compiling a breeze.
